The Leiden Declaration on Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics, a statement on the use of AI in mathematics, was released recently. The document is the work of an international group of 16 researchers in mathematics and other relevant fields (computer science, history, philosophy and anthropology) and has been endorsed by the International Mathematical Union. It identifies potential threats posed by AI in mathematical research and formulates concrete recommendations for individual mathematicians, mathematical organizations, and policymakers. The Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science Conference 2026, organized by Science Atlantic, will take place University of New-Brunswick, Saint-John campus on October 23 and 24, 2026.

The conference will feature three plenary speakers (Danielle Cox, Thierry Duschene et Daniel Lemire), student presentations, as well as the annual Mathematics and Programming competitions (open to undegraduate students).
